Dorothea Koh is the CEO & Co-Founder of Bot MD, a Y Combinator backed startup that is building an A.I. Assistant for Doctors. Since 2018, Bot MD has been used by over 18,000 doctors around the world.
Dorothea’s personal goal in life is to impact 100 million patients by the age of 40. Prior to starting Bot MD, Dorothea lived and worked in several large emerging countries including Indonesia, China and the Philippines. This motivated her to want to create products to help improve the quality of healthcare for large emerging countries, especially among patients living in underserved rural communities.
During the COVID pandemic, Bot MD was used to power WhatsApp to enable doctors and nurses to scale vital signs monitoring to over 4,000 COVID-19 patients in Indonesia and Singapore. Bot MD Care is currently used by leading hospitals and clinics across the Southeast Asia region. Select partners include Siloam Palembang, RS Saiful Anwar, Kortex and Puskesmas Makassar in Indonesia, and private and public hospitals such as Parkway, National University Hospital, National University Cancer Institute Singapore, and Alexandra Hospital in Singapore.
Dorothea graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University, and received her M.S. in Bioengineering from Stanford. She is the youngest fellow to be awarded the Stanford Byers Biodesign Innovation Fellowship and currently has 10 patents published and pending.
